Editorial principles
We aim for accuracy, clarity, proportionality, and practical usefulness. Privacy topics can encourage both complacency and alarm. Our writing avoids claims that a single product or setting makes a person invisible, completely anonymous, unbiased, or secure in every context. We explain the observer, the data, the control, and the remaining exposure.
Source hierarchy
We prefer primary and authoritative sources: official product documentation for technical behavior, government and regulatory guidance for legal or consumer-protection context, standards bodies for protocols, original research papers for scientific claims, and direct policy documents for provider practices. Reputable secondary analysis can add interpretation but should not replace an available primary source.
Each long-form article contains one editorial outbound link selected to support a central concept. Limiting the body to one source link keeps the article focused; it does not imply that the source endorses PrivacySearches.com or that one source proves every statement. Internal links connect related explanations and evaluation methods.
Claims we do not fabricate
- Search volume, rankings, market share, conversion, or keyword-difficulty figures without a verifiable source.
- Testimonials, partnerships, awards, certifications, audits, or provider endorsements.
- Absolute anonymity, zero risk, complete neutrality, universal legal compliance, or guaranteed security.
- Live product features, prices, ownership, jurisdiction, or policies that have not been checked for the relevant date.
Evaluation method
We begin with the data path: browser and device, network, search provider, infrastructure and index partners, result click, and destination. We identify data categories, purposes, identifiers, retention, sharing, controls, and evidence. Recommendations are framed by use case and threat model because a feature can be appropriate for ordinary privacy and inadequate for a high-risk investigation.
Publication and update dates
Articles display a publication date that matches structured data, the blog index, sitemap, and RSS feed. A modification date is changed only when content is substantively revised. Cosmetic build changes do not automatically make every article “updated today.”
Corrections
Send corrections to [email protected]. We assess the cited text, supporting source, materiality, and whether the correction affects other pages. Material corrections should be reflected in the page and modification date. We do not promise publication of every suggestion, but factual challenges are reviewed in good faith.
Commercial and affiliate policy
This static build contains no affiliate links, paid placements, sponsorship claims, advertising scripts, or lead-generation forms. If the publication later adopts a commercial relationship, the relationship should be disclosed where it could influence reader judgment and should not purchase editorial conclusions.
Limitations
Content is educational, not legal or security advice. Regulations and technologies change, and a public article cannot account for every jurisdiction, device, network, employer policy, or personal risk. Readers with consequential needs should consult qualified professionals and current primary sources.
